Expression Begins with Listening
Creativity doesn't always begin with an idea. Sometimes it begins with noticing.
A feeling. An image. A color you're drawn to. A word that keeps returning. Something you can sense before you can explain it.
Expressed creates space to follow those threads without needing to know where they're going. Through conversation, imagination, intuition, experimentation, and creative expression, something that may have been difficult to see or explain can begin to take form.
You don't always have to know what something wants to become before you begin. Sometimes the creating is part of discovering it.
The Art Begins with Connection
Before I create, I listen.
I want to know what matters to you. What you're imagining. What you're building, remembering, becoming curious about, or wanting to keep close. I listen to the words you choose, the stories you tell, and the images, colors, symbols, and connections that begin to emerge as we talk.
Then I create from there.
Intuition and imagination become part of the process alongside artistic choices, experimentation, materials, color, texture, symbolism, and whatever else the piece seems to invite. I don't begin knowing exactly what the finished creation will look like. Part of my work is following what emerges and allowing the piece to reveal itself as I make it.
What I create is my expression of what I encountered with you. What you see and receive within it belongs entirely to you.
What Can Take Form
Expression can take many forms.
Sometimes I create something for you. Sometimes we bring different elements together to create something you can experience again and again. And sometimes I simply create the space, bring some possibilities, and explore alongside you while you discover what you want to make.
There is no single right way for something meaningful to become visible.
